ETA College was established in 1983 by a group of professors that focused on the development of health and fitness programs. In 1994, the institution developed into a college and had ever since provided its students with occupational learning opportunities. 

Today ETA specialises in sports and fitness qualifications and are registered with the Occupational Qualifications Sub Framework and the Higher Educational Qualifications Framework (HEQSF).

The Centre of Academic Development (CAD) is ETA’s head office. It is based in the Western Province and hosts full-time and part-time classes. ETA offers distance learning courses with campuses situated in the following Cities:

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

RPL helps students who don’t meet the minimum requirements for a specific course to obtain the required certificates or modules to undertake a course. 

How to Apply to ETA in 5 Steps

Before Starting Your ETA College Application, Take Note, You’ll Need the Following.

  • A contact number and working email address
  • South African applicants: ID number
  • International applicants: Passport number

Step One: Send in Required Documents 

You’ll need several documents to complete your ETA college application. Make sure that your documents are certified by your local police station and not older than three months. 

Here’s a List of the Required Documents

  • Certified copy of Identity Document/ Passport (international students)
  • Certified copy of the account funder’s ID 
  • International students only: a certified copy of your passport, a valid visa, and a study permit
  • Certified copy of Matric certificate (National Senior Certificate)
  • A registration fee of R1,500

➢ Scan these documents and send them with your name, contact information, and the course you’re applying to online@etacollege.com. 

Step Two: Open the ETA College Website

Select a Programme

Make sure that you meet the minimum requirements for a particular course and that you can pay the registration fee after completing your application. 

Once you have chosen a program, The ETA portal will direct you to an online application form.

Step Three: ETA College Application Form

You’ll Need to Provide the Following.

  • Title
  • First Name
  • Surname
  • Gender
  • Contact Details
  • Socio-Economic Status
  • Population Group
  • Home Language
  • ID/ passport Number
  • Address

Step Four: More About Yourself and Payment

In the Next Step, ETA Will Ask the Following Questions

  • Where did you hear about ETA?
  • Do you have internet access?
  • Which program are you applying for?
  • Do you have any special needs or disabilities?

The Next Step Will Require the Following Information

  • Payment Details
  • Terms and Conditions

➢ Click on next

Step Five: Pay the Registration Fee

After completing the application form, you’ll be asked to pay the R1,500 registration fee.

When the payment is complete, you’ll receive a confirmation SMS and email from the College. 

The College Will Request the Following

  • Billing Details
  • Payment of R1,500 Within 24 Hours

ETA College Requirements

The ETA College requirements differ based on the chosen course. For Bachelor’s degrees, diplomas, and advance certificates, you’ll need a matric certificate. ETA offers short courses that don’t come with any minimum requirements.

The Minimum Requirement for Admission to Bachelor Degree

A National Senior Certificate (NSC) with a minimum of 30% for languages, accompanied by an achievement rating of 50% or more in four NSC 20-credit subjects. Here’s a list of these subjects:

The Minimum Requirement for Admission to a Diploma

A National Senior Certificate (NSC) with a minimum of 30% for languages, with an achievement rating of 40% or more in four recognised NSC 20-credit subjects.

ETA Payment Plan for 2025

ETA College offers a payment plan that divides the total cost into four equal amounts that need to be paid on the following dates:

  • 7th April 2025 
  • 7th July 2025 
  • 7th October 2025
